Maritime Faculty is under national government's protection, registered as «Great Trade Academy».

Furthermore, it is prohibited by law (Health and Safety Regulations) to admit any students, who do not pass the medical exam, for the studies:
• Nautical Studies and Maritime Transport Technology
• Marine Engineering and Maritime Transport Technology
• Marine Electronic Engineering and Information Technology

Permit for construction and modification of an institution, recognized as architectural and historical heritage, was granted and the Faculty is currently conducting the project which will make the building more accessible for students with disabilities.
