Goal of the event:
ESN TEI of Western Macedonia created the 2hr Challenge in order to make its' members step in the shoes of students with disabilities and form their own conclusions. And as the challenge goes on we hope that every local gets to experience it.
Short description of the event:
For two hours five people must live with a disability and accomplish five challenges at their University / TEI. They will have on their side a volunteer who will watch out for their safety and will record the entire process.
The disabilities are as followed:
One person will be sitting on a wheelchair.
The second one will be with crutches.
The third person will miss one hand.
The fourth one will be blindfolded.
And the fifth one will be wearing earplugs or headphones, so that he/she cannot hear.
And the five challenges are as followed:
1st-They will have to go to the cafeteria and buy a drink.
2nd-They will have to visit the Library and borrow a book.
3rd-They will have to go to W.C.
4th-They will have to go from the 1st floor to the 2nd
5th- They will have to go to the Auditorium and get on the stage as if they were about to do a presentation.
How did your event go?:
It went really well, better than we excpected. Before we started, the members were hesitating of what the challenge has to offer them but as soon as we started they got really excited of what the challenge truly is. The only thing that needs change if we ever do it again is that we have to get an equipment that will help us get a better quality for the video. And not only film it as we did this time but take pictures too.
