Goal of the event:
Promote mobilities through an authentic point of view. We wanted to promote mobilities but also raise awareness in the same time. Being the International Day for People with Disabilities we tried to celebrate in a different way and gather a group of people and enjoy together.
Short description of the event:
Our next event organized during the ExchangeAbility Week, ►Ambassadors for Accessibility◄, consists of an informative session regarding the various individuals and different groups of people that participate in the ERASMUS+ mobility programmes. Invited are speakers from two different organizations, as well as a participant of such a programme with visual impairment who will share her experience and her story with you.
We are waiting for you to be a part of a very interesting discussion regarding this subject on the International Day of People with Disabilities. The event will take place at Geobar, a pub that aims to help form a community of people with different passions by accommodating various types of events such as concerts, theater plays, stand-up comedy shows or workshops, and that supports non-profit activities organized by NGO’s in Bucharest.
How did your event go?:
We had two speakers invited (Petra and a spokesman from an NGO) , but just Petra came. We dealed with this and moved on. It was hard to convince people to come, but in the end we had 10 participants (international and local students). Petra's confessions where interesting and eyeopening. She is a wonderful open person, and you forget that she has visual imparment.
In the end everyone was happy that they attended. In the future we are planning to have a better promotion and better communication with the participants.
