Description
Aim of the event:
  • Raise Awareness
Goal of the event:
The awareness of Erasmus students about people with disabilities and the demystification of disability itself through experiental activities. Also, taking into consideration that this event was held during the EA week, a goal was to organise at least one EA event.
Short description of the event:
Art Therapy is a creative method of expression used as a therapeutic technique and it focuses on the creative art-making process itself, and it is originated in the fields of art and psychotherapy.
However, means of Art Therapy are being widely used in team building by big companies and organizations all over the world, as well as in interactive workshops provided by therapists in order to raise awareness ragarding various issues (discrimination, violence etc).

Due to the ExchangeAbility Week that takes place from 28/11 to 2/12, ESN Thessaloniki organized an interactive workshop about people with disabilities. This event was delivered by 2 accredited art therapists, who helped us get the most of this unique experience of "putting ourselves in else's shoes". All of the workshops included artistic means.
How did your event go?:
In total were 4 different experiential workshops focusing on disability, and the whole action ended at 23:00, leaving them all very satisfied, given that we were asked to repeat it.
Problems:
The event was proposed and organized in 5 days to replace another one which was canceled at the last minute, so it was not promoted sufficiently, although the contribution was the ideal (12-16 participants is the ideal) number of participants, but its preferable that the number of Erasmus students make up the majority. (We were 4 Erasmus students, 8 Esners and the waitress that got jealous xaxa)
