Goal of the event:
Raising awareness on daily issues faced by visually impaired people through an evening with the participation of esners, erasmus students and locals. The idea followed in the realization of the event is that to support accessibility it is necessary a more direct involvement.
Short description of the event:
The participant joined a blind dinner. The participant prefilled a form with their allergies or feed restrictions, about which the restaurant were then informed. The participants were given an eye mask to wear during the dinner. Before the dinner there were activities like testing the senses, in which some objects and tastes had to be discovered. During the dinner the participats experienced not only eating without seeing but also chatting with other people without looking at them but only feeling their proximity. They were assisted all throughout all the duration of the dinner by esn volunteers who were ready to help them in case of necessity.
How did your event go?:
The erasmus students found it to be a very interesting experience. They were aware of the goal of the event and they were entertained by the activities developed during the dinner (testing their senses while trying to figure out objects or tastes). It was a positive experience.
