Goal of the event:
Goal of the event was to inform international students and not only, about how this certain school "ELEPAP", a school for people with disabilities factions. We had a tour in the facilities and were also informed about various opportunities we have to work there as volunteers.
Short description of the event:
This activity took place during the SocialErasmus Week and was again a combination of the two projects. Not only were we educated and informed about how this school factions and what they offer to the children-students that go there, but we also learned about opportunities to Take Action and work there as volunteers. Interracting with the children there, everytime we go there, is one of the greatest assets of organizing visits like this because I believe that the participants change. Seeing the happy faces of these kids despite having certain disabilities, makes us think how grateful we should for everything that we have and do not appreciate it.
How did your event go?:
Although the number of the participants in limited because of the certain type of this activity (only a small amount of visitors can join because otherwise we would seem intrusive to some children with certain disabilities), everyone understood the point of this visit. One could actually notice the difference in the participants' eyes before and after we went in that school. That day we learned a valuable lesson.
