Goal of the event:
Our goal was to raise awareness in Erasmus students about Down Syndrome and make people with Down Syndrome feel that they are not alone but we are all friends, and real friends don't count chromosomes.
Short description of the event:
Down Cafe is a cafe that people with Down Syndrome or autism work in and earn their lives. First the founder of the cafe tell the story behind it, and Erasus students tell about the similar cafes in their countries. After that workers of the cafe who have Down Syndrome and autism serve some tea and food that they cooked, and while eating our foods we talk with them and try to know each other. After eating our food, we made painting all together with Erasmus students , Down Syndromed and autistic people. We also did face painting. Then we dance together in some traditional and also popular Turkish songs.
How did your event go?:
Erasmus students loved the cafe so much. They were so happy at the end of the event because it was a different experience for them and making the people with Down Syndromed happy was priceless for them.
