Description
Aim of the event:
  • Raise Awareness
Goal of the event:
The purpose of this event was to raise awareness for blindness and visual impairments, therefore all students were blindfolded during the event and the room was completely dark. A woman named Ida also joined us and shared her experience with being blind.
Short description of the event:
People showed up and we gave them blindfolds that they had to put on before we led them into a dark room where they were seated, in front of them they had a plate full of fika and a glas of juice. We started off the event by welcoming everyone and presenting the agenda of the event, also introducing Ida. After that, they had fika while blindfolded and chatted to their neighbours. Later, Ida talked for about 45 minutes and during that students also asked loads of questions that she answered very well. We also played a game to energize everyone since they had been sitting for quite a while without moving and we ended the event with Ida speaking some more and asking the students if they had any more questions.

A man from the local newspaper also joined our event, took some photos and asked me some questions about ExchangeAbility and event.
How did your event go?:
It went very well and everyone was very satisfied and happy with the outcome.
