Description
Aim of the event:
  • Raise Awareness
Goal of the event:
The main goal of our event was to raise awareness for what it’s like to live with visual impairments. We tried to keep it attractive enough for students to join by making it something they could experience, hence having the Fika blindfolded.
On the side some Exchangeability games were played during the event to raise awareness for all kinds of disabilities as well.
Short description of the event:
Text taken from the event:

Have you ever wondered what it might be like to meet new people without seeing their faces - without assumptions or categorisations we tend to make of people we meet?
Or were you interested in knowing what it’s like to live with visual impairments?
Maybe you have never paid a thought to either of these ideas, but became intrigued now that it's presented to you? This is going to be the perfect opportunity for you!

- HOW DOES THIS WORK? -

Fika in the Dark will take place in Kölsvinet from 18:00 onwards, and you are free to stay as long as you wish (we, of course, wish you take your time to get immersed)
You are going to be given blindfolds at the entrance and one of the event assistants will lead you to your table. While you’re chatting with your table buddies we will serve you some fika and cake that ESN Malmö will have baked especially for you. Small related activities will be arranged during and after the actual fika.
How did your event go?:
In general it went well, we had a rich evening program for the students so there was much to do.
