Description
Aim of the event:
  • Raise Awareness
Goal of the event:
Our goal in this activity is to have a good time with children with mental and physical disabilities. This children are studying specific subclasses of Manisa Halil Yurtseven Primary School because of their mentally and physcally handicapped. It's important for them to know what they care about. We wanted them to understand that they were not different from us. What is important to us is that children should be happy. We made them happy by giving them their T shirts.
Short description of the event:
Handprint with Mental Retardation Children: We visited children for our ExchangeAbility week. Some of the children were mentally disabled. Despite being 7 years old, he had the intelligence of a 4 year old child. Some of them were physical disability. We gave the kids white shirts. We then prepare paints. They did not want to touch the paint. It was difficult to persuade. We said that the dyes would come out of their hands when washed. But we did it. We started to paint their hands with the colors they wanted. We printed T-shirt with painted hands. Your children enjoyed it. They wanted us to spend more time with them. We gave as a gift t-shirts which painted together for remembering us. In the end participants were asked about their feelings and experiences.
