Description
Aim of the event:
  • Raise Awareness
Goal of the event:
Raise awareness about issue of blind people. To show students how would it be to do the easiest thing like getting a meal from the dining hall of our university is actually hard for a blind person.
Short description of the event:
First we went in and ask the employees what do they do when a blind person comes, and we wanted them to behave us just like that. They took us to the kiosk first to read our card to pay; and made us sit. We didn’t have to take our foods on our owns, they brought our food, and then we started to eat. It was a good way to realise how lucky we are, because even adding salt or pepper to your food at the amount you wanted was kind of impossible at first. Then the employees took our trays back; and we talked about how we feel about the activity.
How did your event go?:
It was a hard event to handle. We tried to eat soup and not drip to our clothes, to find water, salt and pepper on the table.. We all tried to help each other as much as possible. I don't think that we can improve this now and how. But for the next time, we can think about how we should improve it.
