Goal of the event:
The primary goal of this event was to raise awareness about different disabilities. We wanted to show life of disabled people and to inspire our students. We also wanted our students to integrate a bit and to familiarise them with culture.
Short description of the event:
Event consisted of two parts. First we told our international students about the goals of ExchangeAbility week and we shortly described them goals and fundamentals of ExchangeAbility project. Then we turned down the lights and started the movie. We also let our Erasmus students vote for a movie few days before the event. It made them more involoved in the event. Finally they chose 'The Intouchables'. After getting all the required permissions we could start the projection of the movie. At first students were really heart-broken and filled a bit strange about the movie and shown disability. But after few minutes they started to identify with main characters. This movie touched them really deeply but at the same time it made them laugh. After the projection of the movie we asked students if they enjoyed this kind of activity and they really did. Everyone expressed a desire to redo this kind of the event.
How did your event go?:
The event went really great. It did raise the awareness about disabled people and showed our students that despite disability everyone can have a normal life. The feedback was really great. Our students were touched by the movie. They really enjoyed this event.
