Description
Aim of the event:
  • Promote mobility
  • Raise Awareness
  • Make ESN Accessible
Goal of the event:
We decided to organise the Senses Evening to show the Erasmus people the everyday struggle of the disbled persons. We prepared 5 stations in which we were ''turning off'' one of our senses- to show them how it is to feel the spices without seeing them, how it is to dance without hearing the music, or how to feed someone with covered eyes.
We wanted to make them understand better everyday life of person which disabled perception of the world.
Short description of the event:
We divided Erasmus people into 5 groups as we prepared 5 stations- one for every sense. So in every station they were ''turning off'' one of the senses to understand better the everyday struggle of the disabled person. That's why they were trying to guess a spice by smelling it, say something by lipping it, feed someone with covered eyes, and dance without music.
The big final was the dancing part : they were dancing in pairs with pen between their fingers or in groups around the chairs ( always we had 1 or 2 chairs less then the amount of the persons still being in the game). The person who won, gained another 5 points for his/her team, the 2nd place gained 3points, and the 3rd place gained 1 point.
At the end we added all collected points and the best 3 teams won the special prizes.
After all, we had a little talk in which we explained once again why we had done this evening and everyone could say his experiences after passing all the 5 stations.
How did your event go?:
It went very good. All the people joined it a lot, and everyone admitted that it was a nice way to learn more and understand better the everyday struggle of the disabled people.
