Description
Aim of the event:
  • Raise Awareness
Goal of the event:
We wanted to organize this event to raise awareness and to approach erasmus students to the deaf community. They all had a great time trying to learn somenthing new. They were really curious about talking another language and improving it, is such a great activity to increase and make them more open-minded about what is having a disability.
Short description of the event:
A Sign language teacher gave us a little introduction about alphabet, common sentences and questions. The erasmus and esnrs were following her instructions and we manage to say our name and where we came from.
We also did a video of all saying name and where they came from so they can have a record about what they did and what they learn, hopefully that will be a good way for them to get in touch with the deaf community and be able to do other activities apart from it to help people and encourage disabled students from their countries to do an erasmus.
How did your event go?:
Really well, everybody had fun and felt happy to be able to say somenthing new in a not so common language. Many people wanted to ask some words after the workshop and they went to the teacher asking how to say funny words or asking if there where any funny expressions in that language, and sure there are!
Was a funny time trying to guess the meaning of some signs and learning a language.
