Aim of the event:
  • Raise Awareness
Goal of the event:
Raise awareness about blindness. Awareness about the difficulty of moving in the city with blindness. To help people conscientiously reduce architectural barriers, or to denounce architectural barriers. Give importance to the barriers for the blind.
Short description of the event:
Do you ever wondered what it would be like living without being able to see what surrounds you? What if was in the heights?
ESN URJC offer you a very special way of knowing the sky of Madrid: a visit by the buildings of Madrid and finish at the stadium Santiago Bernabeu, where a delicious snack is waiting for you (Sandwich, drink). But all this under the experience of going blindfolded.
We visited the tallest and most emblematic buildings in the city of Madrid, where we made a drawing with eyes closed. They explained the difficulty of the blind people in the city. In addition we passed with different zones of the city with the closed eyes, like pedestrian steps with the sound of the traffic lights, access to the restaurant of the Santiago Bernabeu with the closed eyes and at the end we had an awareness talk.
How did your event go?:
Activities were carried out through the city without vision, such as drawing buildings, crossing pedestrian crossings, and entering a restaurant without a vision and then enjoying a snack and being able to talk about the awareness of people with blindness.
