Short description of the event:
A Speed Date with a Twist" was an event organized by ESN Lisboa for the ExchangeAbility Week Spring 2017. This event used the concept of a 'Speed Date' and gave it a Twist, It was Blindfolded! In such conditions not only it raises awareness for the difficulties of communication, that a visually impaired person feels, also it removes the 'prejudice' of judging the persons by the looks. The event was divided in 3 different parts: The First was the Speed Date in which 8 males and 8 females were given the opportunity for chatting for 5 minutes, after 5 minutes people switched, until all participants spoke between each others; the second part was the blinded object guessing and food tasting, in which the Erasmus tried to guess objects by feeling them and the food by tasting again raising awareness for the difficulties of the visually impaired, the last part the participants took out the blindfolds, and played a silent charade game in which they had to guess what one of the persons was impersonating, but no words were allowed this time to raise awareness to the difficulties of the hearing impaired.
