Description
Aim of the event:
  • Raise Awareness
Goal of the event:
The goal of the event was to on one hand raise awareness about people with disabilities, and on the other hand to let students meet and get to know each other.
Short description of the event:
During this event, students could experience how to create friendships with a disability. The main idea was to have a normal speed friending event, but since it was ExchangeAbility Week, we have decided on transforming it into n EA event. They were blindfolded, or had earplugs in, so it made the speed friending a bit more difficult, and made them realize how much difference does it make to have any kind of disability while trying to get to know another person. They were sitting in small groups, trying to get as much information about each other as possible. We have also organized a happy hour during the activity, so the participants could benefit from that too.
How did your event go?:
Not too many students could join in the end, but the ones who were there, enjoyed it a lot and were very excited about this way of speed friending. Next time we would like to launch this event during the welcome weeks, so very probably a lot more students will join.
