Description
Aim of the event:
  • Promote mobility
  • Raise Awareness
Goal of the event:
Illustrating how the University of Antwerp is accessible or how to improve its accessibility for current and future exchange students with limited mobility by venturing through the university in weelchairs.
Short description of the event:
We walked through the University of Antwerp, city campus, on Friday during the Western European Platform event that took place in Antwerp. In order to fully show the ESN spirit, ESN Antwerp and the OC organized SocialErasmus activities and an exchangeability activity. The exchangeability activity was about showing how accessible the University of Antwerp was for students with mobility issues. The only way to properly do this was by venturing through the univeristy in weelchairs with persons with disabilities to look at how the University of Antwerp is adapted to persons with disabilities and how the University of Antwerp could improve.
How did your event go?:
Everyone was happy and satisfied with the event. It was fun to do and a fun way to positively contribute to the exchangeability of every single student, with or without a wheelchair. Overall happy with the result of the event. The exchangeability project was also introduced and illustrated on a large scale on the Western European Platform.
