Goal of the event:
The main aim of this event was to bring the Erasmus students closer to the kids with visual imparment and share with them some facts about their contries. The second one was to have a sesssion where they could share their abilities and see that everyone is special in their own way.
Short description of the event:
Our ExchangeAbility Week begins with a visit to Școala Gimnazială Specială pentru Deficienți de Vedere București (Elementary School for visually impaired children).
The school has a rich history in teaching and forming youth with visual impairment from all over Romania. The students are aged between 5 to 15 years old. Pupils have custom intervention plan but they respect the school curricular schedule. All students benefit from educational and comprehensive therapy.
This Tuesday, we are going to have a chance to interact with those amazing kids and realize that WE ARE ALL ARE THE SAME AND WE ALL HAVE THE SAME NEEDS. The teachers will explain us how they deal with different activities, and how their daily life is. Afterwards, we will have some activities together.
We kindly ask all participants to prepare 3 interesting facts about their countries, in order to share it with the kids (please keep in mind that they have visual impairment)
How did your event go?:
During the activity the kids had fun and enjoyed talking with the students. The kids were open and curious about the new people they met. The teachers from there helped us to maintain a link between us and the kids, guiding and supervising us. The few Erasmus students that participated were impressed and liked the activity. We are invited with other occasions also.
We had few Erasmus students but also we had a limit imposed by the school (10 max), in the end it was really nice tio mingle and learn from the kids
