Goal of the event:
To raise awareness among Erasmus about the disability of blindness and how to carry out day-to-day activities such as dine with blindfolded eyes.
Trying different textures and flavors in during dinner.
Short description of the event:
"Before entering the restaurant we put the masks on the Erasmus so that they did not see what the place was like and put themselves in the paper from before entering, during the dinner we gave them to taste different flavors, sweet, salty, spicy ... And we asked them what they thought it was and if they liked it, they found it difficult to use water or find the cutlery at first but little by little they were getting more management.
We performed dances with Mexican music live in the background with the eyes closed that were quite funny and curious.
At the end of the dinner we had a little discussion about how they had felt at dinner and what kind of difficulties they had encountered at dinner when their eyes were covered. "
How did your event go?:
At the end of the dinner, we have opened their eyes and we have had a little debate about what they thought the activity. They have told us what they found more complicated and how they felt from the beginning with more difficulty until the end Who have become accustomed and did it more easily.
They liked the activity a lot and we have been asked to repeat it in the second semester because it seems very interesting and a way to co-measure about the disability of blindness.
They have told us that they have developed other senses during the dinner, such as hearing or smell, and that it has been rare for them not to be able to see what they eat because they often eat with their eyes.
We would have liked a greater number of participants since it is an activity that we think can attract a greater number of Erasmus but still the Erasmus have finished the activity very happy and wanting to repeat more activities of this style.
