Goal of the event:
The main goal of the event was to raise awareness and make ESN Accessible. Participants had an unique chance to change their life and learn some basics of Polish and International Sing Language.
Short description of the event:
The event began at 6 pm. We met together in a classroom with our friend from Medical University of Lodz. She prepared a presentation and brought some materials, including handouts and sign language dictionary. First she told us some facts about Sign Language (both Polish and International) and about the community of Polish deaf people. Then she moved to workshop part, which included the presentation of Sing Language alphabet (both Polish and International). She also taught us how to say hello, our name and some other basics in Sign Language (again both Polish and International). Then we had a game. Each person got a random word and was asked to try and show it without using words. Most students decided to use the alphabet and sign each letter. After the game students had some questions and our friend managed to answer all of them.
How did your event go?:
The event was successful. All of the students enjoyed it. They had a lot of questions and really showed the interest in this kind of activity.
